Gemma Atkinson, the former Hollyoaks actress and current Hits Radio DJ, has showcased her stunning physique in a series of new pH๏τos. The star, who recently celebrated her 40th birthday in November, is engaged to Strictly Come Dancing legend Gorka Marquez.

She credits Strictly for giving her everything she has today. Gemma graced the cover of Women’s Health UK in a striking red swimsuit, featuring an asymmetrical design that revealed her midriff.

Her blonde hair was styled into a thick French braid, and in another pH๏τo, Gemma looked sensational in a bright red two-piece sports outfit, paired with vibrant red shoes.

She added black accents to her ensemble with a leather crop jacket, black and white socks, and a baseball cap. However, in her interview with Women’s Health UK, Gemma confessed that her journey to self-love and acceptance of her body was a long one.

Gemma said: “So I focused a lot on nutrition; and then after about 13 or 14 weeks, I started doing light exercise again,” She detailed her journey back to fitness, adding, “I gradually built myself back up to where I am now… I feel the best I’ve felt. So, it’s taken more than a year, but I just did it in my own time, at my own pace and now I feel great.”

In the same interview, she candidly shared her initial expectation of becoming a “Stepford wife” upon motherhood. However, the reality of being “thrust into motherhood” served as a stark wake-up call.

Despite the abrupt transition into parenthood, she is embracing the hurdles and showering her son Thiago and daughter Mia with love and care.

This came after she faced harsh criticism from online trolls who body-shamed her as she attempted to return to her fitness routine after giving birth, reports the Daily Star.

Reflecting on the negative feedback she received, Gemma recounted: “A few people messaged and said, ‘I thought you’d be in shape quicker; you’re so into your training; I’m surprised it’s taken you 10 months.’ My mum used to say well, she still says to me if someone doesn’t know you personally, why would you take what they say personally? “.

She continued, emphasizing a balanced perspective: “Even if someone says something lovely,” she added. “It’s so nice, but you can’t take it on board because you walk around with a swollen head.”
