Before his untimely death at the 1994 Imola GP, Senna had secured three F1 World Championships, 41 wins, 65 pole positions, 19 fastest laps and 80 podiums.
The series will cover his life story, racing career and success, as well as his personal life.
A plot synopsis for the upcoming series states: ‘The six-episode series will showcase Senna’s journey of triumphs, disappointments, joys, and sorrows, unveiling his personality and personal relationships.’
‘It begins with the start of the three-time Formula 1 champion’s motor racing career, when he moves to England to compete in Formula Ford, and continues up until his fatal accident in Imola, Italy, during the San Marino Grand Prix.’
Senna will be released on Netflix on Friday, November 29, and there are six episodes in total, with each episode varying in length from 58 to 71 minutes.
The cast of Senna features Gabriel Leone portraying the iconic Brazilian racing driver, Pamela Tome as his TV star girlfriend Xuxa, Matt Mella taking on the role of rival driver Alain Prost, Patrick Kennedy as McLaren team principal Ron Dennis, and Gabriel Louchard as Brazilian sports announcer Galvao Bueno.
Kaya also stars as fictional journalist, Laura, while Arnaud Viard stars as Jean-Marie Balestre, Joe Hurst as Keith Sutton, and Johannes Heinrichs as Niki Lauda.
