Megan Fox is back. The actress, who became a household name in the late aughts, has kept a low profile of late. Though she’s been absent from the big screen for the past two years, Fox never fully disappeared. (No one with 7 million followers is truly anonymous.) On hand in Seoul yesterday to talk up her role in South Korean director Kyung-taek Kwak’s new drama, Battle Of Jangsari, Fox used the opportunity to showcase a new side of her persona. The serious role (she plays Pulitzer Prize-winning war correspondent Marguerite Higgins) demanded sleek fashion and in a navy corset and black tailored trouser look from Olivier Theykens’s Resort 2019 collection, she delivered just that.
It’s been more than a decade since Fox burst onto the scene with a breakthrough performance in the Transformers franchise. Her subsequent films cemented her status as a Sєx symbol, and yet Fox continuously sought to move beyond that label. She worked tireless to shake off any negatives ᴀssociated with the trope, first satirizing the concept onscreen in Jennifer’s Body, then proving herself as a producer with her own archeology-themed docu-series last year on the Travel Channel.
Styled by Chris Classen, Fox’s latest look reflects her current image without losing any of the sultriness. The Theyskens label is heavy on insider-y fashion cred and also meshes well with Fox’s aesthetic. A designer known for his boundless talent with a headline-making early aughts moment of his own, Theyskens offers a modern vision on what it means to be Sєxy, powerful, and completely in your element.
