Dua Lipa has made a comeback with her new pop hit, “Training Season,” after her disappearing act in “Houdini.”
In an announcement on Thursday, the singer shared a teaser on TikTok where she lip-syncs to the catchy track, expressing her fatigue with average men. The lyrics talk about longing for a deep and pᴀssionate connection, comparing it to a wild rodeo ride that takes control.
The artist revealed that her new song was inspired by a string of disappointing dates, with the final one being the tipping point. She shared that the morning after the last date, she walked into the studio to tell her collaborators, Caroline and Tobias, that ‘TRAINING SEASON IS OVER.’ They all had a good laugh about it and the song came together quickly from that point on, just like a post-date debrief with friends.
Lipa went on to explain that the song she created isn’t just about her romantic relationships. “It’s not just about that frustration of constantly having to explain to guys how to treat you right; it’s also about the growth and self-discovery that comes with facing various experiences,” she expressed. “I feel more sure of myself than ever before. Even though we’re constantly learning and evolving, there’s something special about finding someone to share that journey with.”
Following a successful week for the British pop sensation, Dua Lipa has revealed exciting news. Nominated for three categories at the 2024 Brit Awards, including artist of the year, pop act, and song of the year, Lipa’s star continues to rise.
