SHE is known as the life and soul of the party but Dua Lipa has given all that up – and not just because of the lockdown.
The Don’t Start Now singer has revealed she is now teetotal and cutting down on cigarettes to protect her money-making voice.
That means a very sober time while holed up in the Airbnb she is sharing with US model boyfriend Anwar Hadid in London during the Covid-19 shutdown.
The Brit singer said: “I don’t do dairy when I’m singing.
“I’ve also stopped drinking and I don’t smoke, either, when I’m touring.”
It may make her nights out very different, having been a notorious party animal.
She famously visited a strip club in LA with Lizzo after this year’s Grammy Awards.
But with her tour now delayed because of coronavirus, she may be able to put off her health kick for a bit.
She said: “It’s rubbish to postpone the tour but we all have to be safe.
“Now 2021 will be when the UK and Europe tour is happening.
“That will be our year, I thought 2020 would be.”
There may be an excuse for Dua to pop some champagne on Friday, though, because her second album, Future Nostalgia, is in a battle for the No1 spot.
It has sold 20,325 copies so far in its first week of release and is at No2, just 205 copies behind 5 Seconds Of Summer’s Calm.
ROLLERCOASTER
Anything could happen with 24 hours’ sales still to go — but if Dua had had her way, the album wouldn’t even be out yet.
She revealed she considered delaying it over Covid-19, and only decided not to out after it leaked online.
She told Jessie Ware’s food podcast Table Manners: “It’s been an emotional roller-coaster.
“I was toying with the idea of whether to put it out at this time at all. I guess some things just happen for a reason.”
If it reaches No1, she’ll be happy enough.
Normani appeared to take inspiration from Beyonce for her shoot, with fans saying her floral crown reminded them of the superstar’s iconic pregnancy shoot from 2018.
Normani is used to being compared to Beyonce and said: “That is the biggest compliment anyone could ever give me, because everybody knows that’s my favourite artist of all time.
“But it puts pressure on me. I’m the biggest over-thinker naturally, so having the expectations of everybody else and them not even knowing the expectation I have of myself . . .
“But I’m really, really excited.”
