Megan Fox does not take Halloween lightly, which isn’t exactly surprising. Between her starring role in the cult-classic horror movie Jennifer’s Body and her penchant for goth glam style, the 37-year-old is pretty much tailor-made to love—and celebrate—the season accordingly.
Fortunately, Fox’s partner, Machine Gun Kelly, seems to feel similarly about the holiday. Last year, the couple wore not one, not two, but three costumes. After dressing as Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee, video game characters Zelda and Link, and, of course, the very controversial priest and nun, the duo had spooky season in a chokehold from the get-go.
This year, the on-and-off-again couple did it again, attending the annual Casamigos Halloween party as Kill Bill Characters Gogo Yubari and the Bride.
So, sure: Fox and Kelly continue to slay Halloween. But you know what else Megan Fox loves? A gorgeous, goth glam manicure, of course—and her latest take on spooky blood-red nails is seriously making us reconsider our approach to fall nails. Who says we can’t keep it scary until Christmas (if not longer)? Not Fox, that’s for sure.
Created by celebrity nail artist Brittney Boyce, the founder of Nails of LA who’s known for her goth glam manis, Fox’s Halloween mani combines two major fall trends: bright blood red and spooky, tattoo-inspired artwork depicting snakes, not unlike the serpent-inspired look Emily Ratajkowski sported earlier this year.
Boyce previously told Glamour that blood-red nails would be one of the biggest trends for Halloween 2023. “Dark mattes will be popular,” she said. “Think dark green, black, and even a blood red.” The other side of the spectrum is everything chrome: “Silver chrome is also here to stay, and I’m obsessed with it.”
Boyce and Fox are also both fans of elevating nails with decals and decor, which is exactly what they did for Fox’s look this time around. “I love adding 3D metal jewelry at times,” Boyce continued. “For a DIY approach, I suggest using nail art decals. They’re pretty easy to use and look amazing.”
Case in point: Fox’s goth glam mani, a gorgeous blend of blood red, which is the shade Poison by Arctic Fox Hair Color, and gothic imagery like crosses, moons, spiders, spiderwebs, and snakes.
Fox has worn this sort of style before but for her birthday in May (peep the Taurus symbol), which was also created by Boyce.
Either way, her nails prove you simply can’t go wrong with a matte, moody, and graphic manicure.
