With Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper taking their private romance to the streets of New York, will the upcoming 2024 Oscars serve as the platform for the pair to hard launch their relationship to the entirety of Hollywood? Not quite.
Despite speculation running rampant over social media that Hadid and Cooper will make their debut as a couple at the 96th Academy Awards, an anonymous source close to the burgeoning lovers has come forward to confirm Hadid’s “RSVP” status.
Indeed, the supermodel will not be attending her first Oscars this year, instead choosing to stay home with her three-year-old daughter, Khai. (The Guest in Residence founder shares the toddler with former One Direction singer, Zayn Malik.)
“Gigi is not attending the Oscars with Bradley and will be at home with her daughter,” the insider revealed. They noted that this no-show from Hadid isn’t a sign that the up-and-coming ‘It’ couple is on the rocks, but rather a sign of their mutual regard for their respective schedules. “Bradley and Gigi are both genuinely so happy. They’re having a great time together, doing well as a couple, and co-parenting healthily on both sides,” another informant revealed.
It’s reported that Cooper’s six-year-old daughter Lea De Seine, whom he shares with Irinya Shayk, helped bring the actor and model together. It’s claimed Cooper and Hadid’s respective children played cupid to the pair, as the couple were allegedly “bonding over their daughters when Bradley asked her out”.
As the 28-year-old model revealed on social media, the star spent Oscars weekend cropping her signature blonde tresses into the style du jour, a shaggy bob.
Though we had predicted this style evolution would mark her new era as ‘Oscar nominee girlfriend’, it’s clear we’ll have to exercise some patience before that moment arrives.
Cooper has been nominated for three Academy Awards for his work as leading actor and director in the Leonard Bernstein biopic, Maestro. He is up against the likes of Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer) Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers) Colman Domingo (Rustin) and Jeffrey Wright (American Fiction).
