GIGI HADID has reportedly left her New York apartment after an alleged stalker made it past her building’s 24-hour security, although Hadid’s representative insisted that: “Gigi has never had a physical encounter with a stalker and the selling of her current apartment and the stalker incident are completely unrelated.” The model placed her Soho apartment on the market just days after Marcell Porter – a fan who sources described as being “obsessed” with Hadid – was arrested for allegedly stalking her on June 29.
“She was scared,” a law-enforcement source told Page Six. “He’s very delusional. He was muttering to himself in the precinct. He was saying stuff like, ‘She needs me.’ He’d wait for her outside her building for long stretches of time.”
Porter – who gave his address to police as care of a church that helps the homeless on Ninth Avenue – allegedly tried to access the model’s apartment at least five times between June 22 and June 29, leaving love notes for the model there, and is now being held without bail at Rikers. While in custody, the man asked investigators, “When are you going to release me? I have to pick her up at the airport,” the source said, and also reportedly wrote messages directed at Hadid on his Facebook page, including: “I love you. I know everything now. Wait for me soulmate,” and, “Why can’t you call me? I will talk to you in person ASAP. I love you once again.”
Hadid listed her two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment on the market for $2.45 million last week.
