Gigi Hadid was spotted at the CFDA Awards in New York on Monday looking amazing in a gold Michael Kors jumpsuit — a look that might possibly have been inspired by her friend Taylor Swift’s recent Elle magazine cover. [CFDA refers to the Council of Fashion Designers of America.]
Hadid made a jaw-dropping appearance at the event, reports Huffington Post. The 20-year-old model’s jumpsuit had a gleaming pattern and flare leg opening that accentuated her statuesque physique. Her blond curly long locks, sun-kissed makeup and matching glittery clutch piece completed her elaborate ensemble.
Hadid was attending the event with Womenswear Designer of the Year nominee Kors and also presenting the Swarovski Awards with Zachary Quinto. Her outfit looked nearly identical to the sequinned one-piece suit that Swift wore for the June cover of Elle, E! News reported. It also was very similar to the silver jumpsuit that Swift has been rocking on her world tour. Could it be that the two are trading fashion tips?
Hadid made her appearance in New York just two days after Swift brought their mutual friend Martha Hunt onstage during the singer’s “1989” concert in Detroit. Popsugar reported that Hadid and Hunt made their way to the stage toward Swift while the singer was belting out “Style.”
The pop singer shared a picture of their big moment together on Twitter, writing: “When two of your best friends strut the runway with you during ‘Style.'” Even Hadid took to Instagram on Saturday with her reaction, “Will never forget this moment. T, you are amazing. Detroit, you are amazing. Thank you for sharing tonight with me!!!!! #1989WorldTour.” Just a day before the concert, the trio recreated their memorable scene from Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video.
