Gigi and Bella Hadid appear on the dual cover of the May/June 2020 edition of Vogue Paris.
The sisters have been busy during lockdown.
Gigi celebrated a birthday last week – like I did; although I have 20 years on the 25 year old – plus she announced she was expecting her first child with boyfriend Zayn Malik.
Bella featured in the first Spring 2020 ad campaign sH๏τ entirely via FaceTime.
Now we have these covers.
This isn’t an entirely new concept for the sisters, as they’ve both appeared on the cover of British Vogue March 2018.
That editorial cause some controversy as the sisters were captured naked together, but no such uproar has occurred on this occasion.
What I noticed about both Vogue covers, is that the sisters are striking the same pose.
I really enjoy Emmanuelle Alt’s work, but I would’ve loved a concept different from British Vogue.
The editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris тιтled this editorial “the world’s most fashionable sisters.”
Do you think the Hilton’s, Fanning’s, Knowles, Mara’s and Olsen’s will have something say about that?
Alt goes on to note that this edition is an ode to fashion and dreaming.
“In this interlude of instability, where anxiety is heightened and the unknown is king, we are reᴀssured by the familiar. This edition of Vogue Paris celebrates, more now than ever, what we know and love.”
The covers were sH๏τ by Inez & Vinoodh capturing Bella in a Dior Spring 2020 Haute Couture gown, with Gigi in a more dramatic gold fringed look from Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda Spring 2020 Show.
Both will be available on traditional newsstands and online from May 11.
