In the 2019 Pirelli calendar, pH๏τographed by Albert Watson and released on Wednesday, supermodel Gigi Hadid slips into the role of a wealthy heiress who “has recently separated from her partner, lives alone in a glᴀss tower and has [designer] Alexander Wang as her only friend and confidant,” according to a press release.

“I think there’s a degree of angst in these images,” Watson explained in the release. “With Hadid’s character, I wanted to convey the sense of a woman thinking about her future, but also showing her in a situation of loneliness. We see her thinking about where she is going to go in life, what she will be doing tomorrow. I wanted it to be much more minimalistic than the other women and settings I pH๏τographed.”

In real life, 23-year-old Hadid and her boyfriend Zayn Malik, 25, are still going strong after three years of on-again, off-again dating.

The Pirelli calendar’s other stars include American Ballet Theatre principal Misty Copeland, “Ozark” star Julia Garner and French actress and model Laeтιтia Casta.
