She first debuted a Georgian-inspired look at the Brit Awards in April, stepping out in a custom-made Vivienne Westwood Couture gown in yellow silk with a purple fishnet overlay, accessorising with bouffant hair and pearls. Now, Dua Lipa has gone full-blown Bridgerton, appearing in a lace-up corseted look for the music video for her single Demeanor with the late rapper Pop Smoke.
The video recreates an 18th-century ball, with dinner, dancing and debauchery. Much like Shonda Rhimes’ much-loved series, it features a diverse cast of characters, and anachronistic flourishes, modernising the Georgian setting.
The 25-year-old singer oozes glamour in a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier corset, which hails from his spring/summer 1998 collection, teaming the look with sapphire earrings and a ring from VRAM, plus a large emerald pendant. She wears her hair half-up, half-down, with an oversized black bow. The epic outfit was styled by Lorenzo Posocco, who proudly posted about it on his Instagram.
20-year-old Pop Smoke died in a shooting at his California home in February 2020, with his fifth album, Faith, released posthumously. He appears in the video as a hologram and in an animated painting in the background of the party.
Announcing the video’s release on Instagram, Dua wrote: ‘Thank you to the team and Pop’s family for having me on this song.
Thank you to my friends for making this video with me.’
