Dua responded to the recognition on Instagram, telling her followers: “It’s an honour and a privilege to be able to represent my country all over the world and to continue my work and efforts globally to see that we leave our mark and make a difference.

“The youth of Kosovo deserves the right to visa liberalization, freedom to travel, and to dream big.”

At the time her honorary ambᴀssadorship was announced, Dua was in Kosovo to perform at the Sunny Hill Festival in the capital Pristina.

The festival is a music event that was founded by Dua and her father.

The singer told the audience at the 2022 Sunny Hill press conference: “I want to send love to all the youth of Kosovo, and I want to say no matter how big your dream is, you can achieve anything that you want, if you put your mind to it.

“I truly do believe that, I am here to support you in whatever way.”
